Help St. Joseph’s to sparkle

St. Joseph’s Hospice is inviting local businesses, schools, community groups and individuals to give the gift of Christmas to hospice patients receiving end of life care by sponsoring a Sparkle for St. Joseph’s Christmas tree.

The event, which was launched during the pandemic, went down so well with patients and families that it has continued every year since.

By sponsoring a Sparkle tree, the hospice can fill its gardens with small sparkling trees covered in glittering lights. The trees will be positioned so that patients, whether they are able to go outside or not, will be able to enjoy them through their bedroom window throughout the festive season

The lights will all be switched on during the hospice’s Light up a Life Christmas service on Sunday 4th December and will be left on until the twelfth night, Thursday 5th January 2023.

Maxine Armstrong, head of fundraising and lottery at St. Joseph’s Hospice, said: “This is the third year of Sparkle for St. Joseph’s and we’re delighted to be running it again this year. It is such a lovely way for local businesses to help brighten up a dark winter and show our patients how much they are loved and cared for by their communities

“To sponsor a Christmas tree, we are asking businesses to donate £200 per tree. We will provide the trees and will include the name of the donor or a business logo by the tree

“Please help us to give the gift of Christmas to our patients this year and help our gardens to sparkle.
