Hospice joins Big Give Christmas Challenge

From #GivingTuesday (28 November) right through to Tuesday (5 December), St. Joseph’s Hospice is asking its supporters to put their hand in their pocket and donate just £5.

For these seven days only, all donations to the hospice will be doubled through the Big Give’s Christmas Challenge, creating a legacy from its 55th Anniversary year and helping it to fund new projects that will allow it to care for more people and offer more services in the future.

The Big Give’s Christmas Challenge was founded by entrepreneur and philanthropist Sir Alec Reed CBE and is the UK’s biggest online match funding campaign.

Julie McAdam, Senior Fundraising Officer, said: "If you were planning to make a donation to the hospice at some point, or you would like to support a local charity this Christmas, please consider making a small £5 donation to St. Joseph’s Hospice over the next seven days and it will have twice the impact as usual.

“To continue running the hospice, as it is now, we need to raise £8,750 every single day. But we have ambitions far beyond this. We have a vision to care for even more people coming to the end of their lives. There is a great deal more we want to do and by supporting us during the Big Give, you will help us to create a real legacy from our special 55th Emerald Anniversary year.”
